Hi, I'm Tejal, an international student from India who came to StFX in March 2021 to pursue my Masters of Applied Computer Science program. However, after arriving in Antigonish, I did face problem in terms of finding part-time jobs.

There weren’t many job openings, and I couldn't find any online job postings for the jobs I was looking for. This was a challenge for me as I needed to support myself financially while studying at the university. To handle this, I applied at multiple places by visiting and giving my resume to the managers. I also visited those places every once in a while to follow up on my application. Finally, I managed to find a job, which helped me to support myself during my studies.

If you are an upcoming international student planning to study at StFX, my advice would be to talk to your seniors before coming here about overall living in Antigonish. This will help you to get an idea about the resources available and what to expect when you arrive. Additionally, try to be proactive in your job search by networking with people and reaching out to potential employers. Be persistent in following up on your job applications, and don't give up. With hard work and determination, you will find a part-time job that will help you support yourself while studying at StFX.
