Hi, I'm Kesha Patel, an international student who joined the Masters of Applied Computer Science program at StFX in April 2021. While my experience at the university has been great so far, I faced a major challenge when it came to finding suitable housing.

The limited options for housing and the high cost of rent made it difficult for me to find accommodation that fit my needs and budget. Many of the available options were already taken, and those that were available were either too far from the university or too expensive for my budget.

To handle this problem, I had to manage my budget and prioritize my needs. I found a roommate who shared my interests and was also in the same program as me, and we shared the cost of rent and utilities. Additionally, we looked for housing options that were closer to the university and had good amenities, which saved us money on transportation costs.

If you are an upcoming international student planning to study at StFX, my advice would be to start looking for housing options as soon as possible. Additionally, I would recommend checking with the university to see if they provide affordable housing options for students. This would help to reduce the stress and financial burden of finding suitable accommodation, so that you can focus on your studies and make the most of your time at the university.
